There was a good turn out at the funeral of Josie Mackie, (Thursday 28th December) friends and family, plus a good representation of the dog show world. A well kent face, as they say, and well liked by all who knew her. She got her first Bichon many years ago, albeit she was sold a West Highland White – we all knew the breeder. Talk about being sold a pup! Regardless of that Josie went on to be the first Scot (and only one to this day) to make up a Champion Bichon in 2014 with Lola her 2 year old bitch which had the show name of Suanity Mistic Mercury at Cydmar, a very proud moment indeed. Rest well Josie. The Club usually has at least two events a year. These can be Seminars, covering: trimming, breeding and general well-being of Bichons, or just a general get together or party. Every year (weather permitting) we have a Christmas Party, this being the most popular event by far. Our AGM is held in April (on Zoom – details on Facebook). Club Membership is annually from 1st April. There are Dog Shows going on somewhere around the country most weekends, where you can usually meet other Bichons. Half of our committee show on a regular basis so there is a good chance of meeting up with them as well. You can find a show near you on www.highampress.co.uk/shows or www.mbjprint.co.uk/dogshows
